Frankfurt, Germany — September 2026 — Sonnex Energie GmbH is expanding its portfolio of customized solar solutions with the launch of its new Flexible PV Module Series, designed for applications where conventional rigid solar panels are not the ideal solution.

The new flexible modules combine high efficiency, low weight and adaptable installation, opening new possibilities for solar generation on lightweight structures, balconies and specially designed solar projects.

 

Lightweight Solar for More Applications

Unlike conventional glass-based PV modules, Sonnex flexible modules are designed for applications where weight, installation flexibility or curved surfaces are important considerations.

The current Flexible Series covers power classes from 100W to 520W, with module efficiencies of up to 24%. Depending on the model, module weights range from approximately 1.95 kg to 8.95 kg, making the technology particularly suitable for lightweight solar applications.

The modules use an ETFE/HPC lamination structure and are designed with IP65/IP67-rated junction boxes, providing a practical solution for demanding outdoor applications.

Flexible Solutions for Customized Projects

Sonnex is positioning the Flexible Series as part of its customized solar module portfolio, rather than as a replacement for conventional PV modules.

Potential applications include:

  • Balcony and lightweight solar systems
  • Curved and architecturally challenging surfaces
  • Lightweight rooftops and structures
  • Special-purpose solar projects
  • Mobile and off-grid applications
  • Customized commercial and industrial installations

For projects requiring specific performance or design characteristics, Sonnex can also provide flexible modules using different advanced cell technologies, including TOPCon and Back Contact, according to project requirements.

With the launch of the Flexible PV Series, Sonnex Energie is further strengthening its ability to provide application-specific PV solutions for customers worldwide.
